Another very successful school year

Dear Parents and students

As we come to the end of another very successful school year I want to start by thanking parents for your support of school life and to congratulate students for their commitment to their work and the contributions they make to so many areas of school life.

As always at this time of the year we will be saying goodbye to a number of teachers. We wish Mr Black and Miss Donia (MFL), Mrs Bloor and Miss Morgan (English), Mrs Cooper (Technology), Miss Barrow (Maths), Mr King (ICT) and Miss Costantini (SENCO) all the very best in their new jobs and thank them for their contributions to Thamesmead. Special thanks also go to Miss Bowie, who is moving to Surbiton High School, for all she has done in achieving such high standards for our students in Art; to Miss Barnes, who is relocating to Lancashire, and who has done so much to establish performing arts as a key part of school life; and to Mr Bunting, who has taught in the school for 27 years, and whose guidance and support both as a Technology teacher and as a tutor so many students have benefited from. We also thank Mrs Davies for her work in Learning Support and wish her the very best for her retirement, and temporarily say goodbye to Miss Patterson and Mrs Landman as they are both going on maternity leave. I am pleased to say that we are fully staffed for the new school year and I will let you know the names of the new teachers iat the beginning of next term.

I wish you all a really good summer break and look forward to seeing you at the start of the new school year.

Mr Rodin
