Ofsted Inspection Report June 2012

Our Ofsted inspection took place on 13 and 14th June 2012 by a team of four inspectors led by John Meinke. They were very thorough and professional and have produced an inspection report which I feel is a very fair assessment of Thamesmead. It accurately identifies the many strengths of the school such as:

'Students demonstrate a high level of engagement during lessons and show great enthusiasm for learning. They work very well together and enjoy discussing their work.'

'Disabled students and those with special needs are now making consistently good progress.'

'Students make good and sometimes outstanding progress in English and Maths.'

'Students' good and steadily improving outcomes are secured through good and outstanding teaching over time.'

'The school is particularly effective at working with students whose circumstances make them vulnerable.'

It also clearly sets out the areas that we need to improve upon even further. Above all I believe that the report captures the ethos of a school that is determined to go on improving so that we can provide the very best education possible for Thamesmead students. Click here to view the full report
