Thamesmead School has a hardworking PTA which meets to discuss and co-ordinate supporting the school with various events and fundraising activities. They are an enthusiastic group of parents who are keen to raise as much money as possible to help enhance Thamesmead students’ education experience. Parents are always welcome to get involved.
Typical events supported or run by the PTA:
Providing refreshments at the Open evening in October
Providing and serving a buffet for the GCSE presentation evening in November.
Providing/selling refreshments at the Acoustic Concert and the Christmas Carol Concert.
Providing/selling refreshments at the whole school play.
Fundraising event for Mothers Day
The biggest fundraiser of the year: a refreshments stall at the Shepperton Fayre in June. This is a very enjoyable day and we need as many volunteers as possible to put a stint in on the stall, throughout the day (either setting up, preparing, serving or dismantling) to make the stall a success.
Providing/selling refreshments at the Cabaret and Lower School Play.
The PTA also run a 200 club which has a monthly prize draw and an annual draw in October.
If you would like to get involved in supporting the PTA’s activities, please phone Mrs Harman 01932 219400, PTA Liaison at school, who will let you know when the next event or PTA meeting is.
All new fundraising ideas are very welcome.
