Year 7 Citizenship/PSHE
Students should gain a broad knowledge and understanding about becoming informed citizens; they develop skills of enquiry and communication and of participation and responsible action. During Year 7 students study the following units:
Citizenship Skills and SEAL Rules
Rights and Responsibilities Houses of Parliament
Resolving Personal Conflict Global Community needs and wants
Young people and the Law Diversity
Local Community Active Participation
Year 8 Citizenship/PSHE
Students should gain a broad knowledge and understanding about becoming informed citizens; they develop skills of enquiry and communication and of participation and responsible action.
During Year 8 students study the following units:
Personal Safety Groups in society
National Democracy Local Government and the Local Community
World of work Global Conflict
Citizenship Skills Consumer Rights – Legal issues
Year 9 Citizenship/PSHE
Students should gain a broad knowledge and understanding about becoming informed citizens; they develop skills of enquiry and communication and of participation and responsible action.
In Year 9 students study the following units which are taught in modular rotation:
Crime & Legal Awareness Education for Parenthood
Human Rights Role of Charities
PSHE
Key Stage 4
Year 10 BTEC Work Skills
Information handling
Environment
Beliefs & values
Work experience
Individual project
Students complete challenges in the areas above to achieve the certificate.
