McLaren Apprenticeships

Engineering opportunity – closing deadline – 19th April 2019

Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd (UPSL) in Hook, Hampshire are looking for talented individuals to join their 2019 Field Service Engineer apprenticeship scheme which starts in August. The four year scheme will give them electrical and electronic skills required to become engineers capable of maintaining, commissioning and carrying out interventions on our range of Uninterruptible Power Supplies. The training will comprise theory and practical elements culminating in the award of a Level 4 HNC in General Engineering and a Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering. The position will be a full time paid role.

The opportunity is open for candidates aged over 16 or over who will achieve GCSEs Grade 4 or above in Maths, Science and English and have a natural aptitude for engineering skills, logical thinking, and problem solving.

Although the organisation is based in Hook, Hampshire, the apprenticeship is field based so the apprentice will be working from home. The first year will be full time at Kingston College, and so the apprentices will need to be able to travel there for study. As soon as the apprentices start their second year and have passed their driving test they will be provided with a vehicle so they can travel to our customer sites, or our offices when required.
