The parents and guests at this year’s summer show, Thamesmead’s Got Talent, were treated to some outstanding performances on Thursday last week. The variety of entertainment was excellent ranging from orchestral pieces, contemporary and classical dance to solo singers, comedians, jazz musicians, pianists, drummers, guitarists.
Past years successes were also showcased with a reprise of some of the songs from the very popular ‘Oliver the Musical’ show back in March. The 2016 winners, Bella & Olivia performed a spectacular gymnastic routine treating this year’s audience to their talent.
Thamesmead are delighted to continue their association with the Rotary Club of Shepperton and Sunbury who kindly supported this event. Their President, Richard Black presented Year 11 student, Caris, with the KS4 Most Promising Performer trophy in recognition of her contribution to music at Thamesmead over the last five years.
The judging panel had a very difficult decision choosing winners, but were unanimous in their choice of dance quartet Jessica, Scarlett, Lucinda and Bethan, who performed ‘A Thousand Years’ with grace and elegance. The runner up was Isabella, who sang ‘Evermore’ and third place was shared by gymnast duo Millie & Annabelle and vocalist Loresa.
