Our pastoral system is different from almost all other schools and really does put out students first. The school is divided vertically for tutor time, with Key Stage 3 together then Key Stage 4.

We have four school houses Centaur, Dragon, Griffin and Phoenix each being composed of students from all year groups. Each House has its own special identity and the students are encouraged to feel a strong sense of belonging, and a sense of responsibility towards themselves and others.

Each House's Prefects have been chosen for their many positive qualities and the school likes to develop these even further so that in future job, college and university interviews our students can give examples of how they have shown leadership, team work and problem solving. Army personnel joined the prefects for a day of personal development activities. There were five different tasks for teams to solve with no one correct solution. Communication, negotiation and team work were needed to solve each problem.

The day finished with a four-way tug of war.
